Over the last year, I have likely tried hundreds of skins. I am constantly on the lookout for the perfect skin. Unlike some of my friends, though, I don’t have a very long list of demands. The most important feature of a skin for myself is the face - I absolutely must have freckles. My first big purchase in SL was Lisa, from Camilla Yosuke’s first line of skins. I really liked it, but was set on having freckles! Camilla recently released new skins and when I saw the Estelle face it was love at first sight. These skins are smooth, while still retaining the distinctive, photorealistic look that Insolence (SLURL) is known for - in short, buttery goodness.
If you’re in the market for a new skin, check out the new faces (click here for a link to detailed pictures - not safe for work!). Each skin is distinct, so try them all. I loved the lips on Carol and Claire, but the freckles on Estelle won me over! Plus, that’s got to be the cutest tush in all of SL.
By the way, I was at Silent Sparrow (SLURL) for the current sale. Items in the Secret Sewer Sale Area will be removed permanently on June 24th and there are a slew of other items on sale in the main shop. Check it out before you miss out!

I am in love. I have been unable to change my appearance in Second Life for nearly a week - I’m just having too much fun as I am! It’s all Achariya Maktoum’s fault. She’s been blogging the fantastic skins from MiaSofia (URL, SLURL) since late last month, beginning with the startlingly vivid Blu Beauty skin. When she blogged the Steel Starlet skin, it was love at first sight. Two words: “drow freckles.” I was a little worried that the skin wouldn’t match my favorite ears from Illusions (URL, SLURL), but they are scripted with multiple skintone and jewelry options. I chose the first skintone in the Adam ‘n Eve (URL, SLURL) category and it matched perfectly!
I also knew exactly what I was going to wear with it - I dusted off my Elven Warrior armor from Random Inspirations (URL, SLURL). I love this set, but it’s all prim, so fitting it to my pudgy tummy took some doing! A quick trip to Magika (URL, SLURL) turned up the perfect hair to complete the look.
Of course, it wasn’t enough to just get dressed, I also needed the perfect location! L’Arbre Monde (SLURL) is one of my favorite places to explore in SL. It’s like stepping into a traditional fantasy roleplaying game, with a very, very large tree, a village, and many hidden surprises. I felt right at home. Go check it out for yourself!

Reading the fashion feed was a great way to start my SL day today. Through the SL Free*Style blog, albeit indirectly, I found a great place to shop and hang out - Pet Village Japan (SLURL)! There are actually nine sims in the Pet Village Japan complex, but only one is fully developed. The center sim has a mall and a cafe with gorgeous aquariums. I took my Fluffy Seal Point Kitten from the Lolo Pet Store (URL, SLURL) to see the fish. She was allowed to look, but not touch!
I took my sweet little chihuahua from Golden Hand to explore the mall and surrounding sims. It must have been warm, because one of them fell asleep! These little puppies make great gifts and the price is right - they’re only L$20 to L$80. They’re sure to brighten anyone’s day, they certainly brought a smile to my face. Thanks, SL Free*Style!

After a seriously serious break from Second Life, I logged back in recently craving a bit of eye candy. (If you’ll pardon the pun!) Siyu Suen of Illusions (URL, SLURL), the gorgeous friend and designer that she is, spoiled me with an abundance of new releases. The sweet Chibi Angel Wings caught my eye first, I love little wings! I absolutely squealed over Siyu’s new elven jewelry, though, which, of course, matches her pierced elf ears perfectly. The best thing about all of these pieces is the scripting - skintones, metals, you name it. I love being able to match things with just a click (or two or three, as the case may be). I was so engrossed in posing like a sexy vamp, though, that I forgot to get closeups of the jewelry. Siyu has detailed shots on her blog, thankfully!
After finding the right accessories, I needed an outfit to finish the look … so what if my priorities are a bit different? I was sorely tempted to strut around naked, but I took a look in my inventory anyway. The interesting cut-out on the (antiHero) Galaxy suit from PixelDolls (URL, SLURL) seemed like the next best thing to being naked, so of course I wore it. I actually have a lot of bodysuits, thanks to a healthy interest in science-fiction!
Despite this healthy interest, I couldn’t quite figure out what the purpose of the Mongo World Domination Outpost 9 (SLURL) was, besides looking amazing. That was enough for me, though!

Testing the polaroid and photo description formats.
And generally testing everything else, as well!
